Finally got this thing to work out, My bad, sorry about not responding sooner,

I couldn't beat the price of a crate motor. Dealer in Florida $4400.00 complete.Serpintine, ps pump, alt,a.c,just add oil and water, plus free shipping and no tax. $2700.00 to rebuild the 235. couldn't pass it up. I'm in no hurry to clean the garage so if you change your mind let me know

Thanks for the msg. What I need is advice. Since I can't keep the numbers, I'm gonna give up on the idea of original. Besides, parts for the 235 are expensive. I hadn't bought anything yet, as I was waiting for the measurements on the block and crank. If you wouldn't mind though, I could use some advice on mounting the 283. I'm guessing you put yours in place of a 6?
