Part cleaner

Anyone got a receipe for a good ,cheap parts cleaner ?? i just bought a 30 gallon parts cleaner and trying to figure out the best way to fill it, Id like some water based as to be enviromentaly responsible thanks Kilroy was here!!!!!

hi i'm new here but not new to chevy trucks by a long shot. some of the best parts cleaner salutions have been mixtures of certain items. mineral spirits, diesel atf transmission fluid (works really good). just be sure to keep ventalated. also add some muriatic acid and keep baking soda handy. but for rust nothing beats reverse electrolysis. i've taken an engine that sat exposed to the weather for 15 years and within 3 days it looked like it was fresh out of a machine shop. good luck

For rust I have had good luck with a product known as Evapo-Rust. Environmentally friendly too. The only catch is that it works best if the parts are immersed.
