Hei Dizzy made in USA is an good argument to pay some more money

The Hei Dizzy made distributor is made in the USA as i understand. They garanty for the best quality but it costs around 250 US dollars + shipping cost. It makes quite a price difference with the Chinize produced one for 169 bucks. Does the the chinize version have the same qualety as the US made ?

I wanted to know if you could share your experiences. What do you think of the HEI distributor compared to the Delco distributor ? Do you have an 216 or 235 CI engine installed and what year is your truck made? Whas any modifeing needed when installing the Mini HEI distributor? What useage has the steel gear that Langdons offers in this combination ?

Martinuis, I have a 58 - 235 in a 51 Chevy 3/4 ton. All I did was run a new 12 gauge wire to it. No other mod was done. The big seller for me was all GM parts for repairs when needed. It comes with a round F@#% coil with it, which is for a High energy ign system. I put the writing under the bracket, you can't see any of the writing. I've messed wtih the curve a little bit, I live 5800 ft above sea level. The instructions where very clear on what to do. No muss, no fuss. The mini HEI is off of the 2.8L v6 chevy engine. Plus it looks more stock.

Thanks for your fast reply, this gives confidence in that the distributor Tom Langdon sells is a good product. Does this Mini Hei have the rotor and points or is it an electronic device without ? By the way it looks not totally new but it is an remanufactured device right ?

No, It is a GM Distributor, High Energy Ingnition, for a 2.8 liter V-6. This came in S-10 Blazers and Pick ups.
