I have a 1987 chevy pick up with 5.0 engine. Butterfly valve apparently sticks slightly causing rough place at start of acceleration. Is there anything that can be done other than replacing the throttle body?
Remove the throttle body and clean it as you would a carburator. I have good luck with B12 from Walmart, it comes in spray cans and in bottles for soaking stubborn parts. It sounds like your throttle body has carbon deposit build up. After you clean it you'll swear it's not the same engine and the gas mileage will improve too.
