no spark wont run

I have a 1987 3/4 ton 4x4 standard trans. About 2 months ago installed new fuel switching valve . Ran great till today and just never would fire up. Added some gas to the carb TBI and never even a sputter. It was 19* degrees here this morning , but that should not stop it from starting. I did take the distrubutor cap off and found allot of dark scale and the rotor was pretty dark colors on the white plastic. Seemed like the contact on the top of the cap was worn down allot Not sure what to look for . All wires seem to be on and tight. Help Please This engine always ran very smooth till today.

found problem

Yes , found out that the distributor pick module was bad. Went to Napa and got whole new distributor and fixed it . Also just added a new coil for the heck of it.

Ok new problem with setting the timing right?? will run but seems to maybe over heating do to timing being off some what? Can some one tell me how to disconnect the ecm wire and how to find it>?
