    I got this article through The Hamb from a chap named Chad ;

    My buddy inline sells the adapter plates. His name on here is inline. He also has a website http://vintagemetalworks.blogspot.com/
    I used a 1988 Chevy S-10 transmission RWD, the 4x4 has a different output to go to a transfer case. The 85-88 has a mechanical speedo. Later S-10's had electrical speedos. My rear end is the 4.10 or 4.11 rear and it has a perfect gear ratio. I can easily do 80 mph on the highway and could pull a trailer if I needed too. I could start in 2nd gear if it's slightly downhill, but I don't need to. 1st gear is totally usable.

    I found a list of transmission ratios or the ultimate T-5 article on here.

    Here is the list of gear ratios referenced by the transmission tag. Mine was a green barcode on the top of the transmission.

    I copied Inline on this message as he has been working on new stuff and might have something that will help. Is the torque tube a 2 piece unit like the longbed truck or does the torque tube go all the way back to the rearend. We did a swap in a 1950 3/4 ton a few months ago. Here is the link to that write up.The gentleman whom did the article on the swap is David Farwell.

    Yes! thanks for the great research and information. This maybe the only mod I would ever do regarding drivetrain. As anything over 45 MPH would be nice to have;)

    I'm doing the T-5 install as well. There is oodles of information out there on the conversion, and it is relatively simple to do. When I get to that point, I plan on doing a tech article regarding my experience (with lots of photos, of course).
