He also has a website http://vintagemetalworks.blogspot.com/ I used a 1988 Chevy S-10 transmission RWD, the 4x4 has a different output to go to a transfer case. The 85-88 has a mechanical speedo. Later S-10's had electrical speedos. My rear end is the 4.10 or 4.11 rear and it has a perfect gear ratio. I can easily do 80 mph on the highway and could pull a trailer if I needed too. I could start in 2nd gear if it's slightly downhill, but I don't need to. 1st gear is totally usable. Is the torque tube a 2 piece unit like the longbed truck or does the torque tube go all the way back to the rearend. We did a swap in a 1950 3/4 ton a few months ago. I'm doing the T-5 install as well. There is oodles of information out there on the conversion, and it is relatively simple to do. When I get to that point, I plan on doing a tech article regarding my experience (with lots of photos, of course). Damon
