Paint

I am using A Urethane paint and doing most of the paint myself.
Is it possible to buff out any imperfections (orange peel, dust etc...) that occur during the paint process?
Is it something that needs to be done within a specific time period after you lay the paint on?

Looks pretty good for an amatuer, I have just become a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my 57 !

I am not sure about the buffing...But i am going to paint my truck myself also, and I will most likely do it piece by piece,the areas I cannot piece it out i will do section by section...meaning...when I do a section I will mask off what i do not want painted,so when I finish a section,I will let the paint adhear to the truck,then mask off the section completed,using tape that will not pull the paint,I will let each section dry as long and addhear as long as it takes to avoid any pulling of the new fresh paint. It sounds teadious...But I want to avoid the orange peel and over spray dust.I just do not think I am capable of keeping a wet edge....Gaff

Yes you can buff the paint. Hot Rod Magazine has had a good 10 month series on paint for the DIY guys like us. Also Go to www.customclassictrucks.com > Tech > "scroll down to Show Quality Paint Jobs With Color Sanding." There is another article about masking and painting the interior. When I find it I will hook you up.
