We let friends and customers park their "For Sale" cars or trucks out front since the shop is on a heavily used highway and they often live on a side road or street. The other day I walked out of the paint booth building and was stunned. There was a woman posing for pictures on the top and hood of a customers 55 first series while her husband/mate was happily snapping away. Naturally they were "Artistes" driving a Prius. They just couldn't comprehend why I was so upset over an "old truck". I told them I had their license number and a couple more witnesses so they just as well give me their name and insurance information. The pictures will turn out to be very costly.

You should have had one of your guys offer to pose on their Prius.

    Evan,
I didn't think "artistes" were allowed in Texas.
It's bad here too, we have them creeping over our border from Massachusetts... (we call them Pilgrims)

At least yours were kind enough to take pictures to incriminate themselves.

Ours usually just want to make where they are now just as miserable as where they came from; trash pickup, tennis courts, street lights, income tax, the list goes on.

It is to the point where we don't have to "display" a deer carcass anymore (the law used to read you needed to have at least a hoof showing), as the Pilgrims were offended by such a sight. No wonder I am looking to move FURTHER into the country.

Evan, I look forward to meeting you someday. You're the best. I promise I won't stay! So I'll only be a yankee, not a damned yankee.

    Some folks truly are clueless.

Living here in Colorado many of the folks from Boulder (a.k.a. "The peoples republik of Boulder") exhibit the same nit-wit "We're Artistes" mentality.

You know, the kind of folks that would die in less than a month if the grid went down. And it's all getting so much better now that the lefties voted to legalize weed. :(

So did the "model" pancake the hood or roof?

Mike, you or anyone else in my book that likes old trucks is not a "damned" anything. If you believe our wives we may be damned crazy for lavishing all the attention onto some that starts out rusty, greasy, and worn out. They just can't visualize the "after" picture like we can.

Hey! I live in Boulder and resent being lumped in with the "artistes". :)
