I would have just called, but I've lost at least 4 phones to the swimming pool or the washing machine since I had your phone number. Sorry about the off topic post guys. I have a friend who wants to install a SBC 350/700R4 crate into his '57 GMC 1/2 ton long wheel base truck. He asked me (who has never done this) for recommendations on where to get the best engine/tranny mounts for the job. I told him I'd ask Evan. What say you?
Bill, I would first check with Chassis Engineering in West Branch, Iowa. www.chassisengineeringinc.com Good product with good support and usually a choice of bolt in or weld in. About in the middle price wise. There is a good chance you will have to go with a universal mounting kit which I actually prefer as it uses the Flathead Ford mount cushions and eliminates any engine rock. Call and explain what he wants and they will take it from there.
We have 2 active rotary phones in the house, a Western Electric 302 circa 1940 and a WE 202 circa 1936 without a ringer. Bad news is the house is now running on voice over IP, so they no longer work when the power is out.
I sure as hell hope that we can make it down your way this summer, Bill. Anyone who still has rotary dial is a friend of mine!
My phone in the garage at the Plano house is an old Western Electric rotary wall model that the cover/case has been off of for at least 30 years. Can't even see much of the guts it is so covered in dust but still works. My wife's phone in her antique room is a wall phone with a hand crank. Can receive calls but operator doesn't answer when you crank the handle. Must be a union thing.
If we are still here you are more than welcome. We may be in the midst of moving west a couple of hundred miles.
Nothing but cleared land, a driveway and sub-foundation work so far. We may move into nearby temporary housing while it is being built.
No. One swimming pool is enough for anyone who isn't rich enough to hire someone else to maintain it.
