So, are you wanting to know if I agree with green or are you wanting to know if I think you should stay with the original color or are you wanting to know if the corvette color is good enough?
I thought a long time about the color for my truck and a couple of things helped me make up my mind. First, the orignal color was swift red, second, I like red, and third, my painter said that he thought the medium shade red looked best on these trucks. The main thing is that I am very happy with the color of my truck. I say if you like corvette green and you think you will be happy, that is all that matters. Go for it! I can't wait to see the results.

more or less just wondering if people like the shade. I like green, but the original green doesn't "pop" to me. This is going to be a resto-rod, so a little metallic sparkle in that paint just makes me love it.

Sorry, when I first pulled up your original post the graphic did not load so I didn't see the vette. Yeah, I like it. I think it would look really good on your 51. I don't think you would see many like it and I think that is a good thing. Maybe, after they see yours there will be more like it.

it is actually a secret, very rare color that made it on less than 400 vettes, it is so secret that GM is having trouble finding the paint code. I am waiting for a callback with the info. so much for the one of a kind paint job, haha

    Color?

Kyle, I like the color, it has pazaz (spelling mine) I also like being different. It took 5 months for the Boop to pick a color. Metalic Candy Apple Red had to be it!. We have some of it back and it will set you back in awwwwwwwwww when it glimmers in the sun. OHHH so fine. I tell her often that when she drives down the road people will say "MAN SHE SURE LOOKS FINE, and the truck ain't bad either". She gets a laugh and tells me i'm crazy :p But it is different, and she didn't want to be like everybody else.

The green color of the vet will stand out, and if it causes your tree to grow, then go for it. If someone don't like it, they can paint there truck a different color.

Can't everybody have the perfect color like you, now can they. :D

i have visions in my head that are amazing, but the transition out of my head makes everything, well less than desirable. I have been looking at greens for the last 3 months, so many that i became delusional and gave up. I found this goofing around on the internet today, being bored. It was like a love at first site thing. I finally felt something made it out of my head and I connected. I'll sleep good tonight!

I was reading in a catalog several years back ( might have been a CD catalog) that green was the standard color and if you wanted any other you had to pay extra--probably $5 or so back then. Does anyone know if the greens for the various years were the same formula. I recall seeing forester, sherwood, and juniper for starters.

Evan, the standard color for the truck was indeed Forester Green. In 1950, they offered 11 other RPO colors at no charge. The only 2 greens in '50 were Forester and Seacrest green. IIRC, they changed the name in '52 or '53, dropping the seacrest green and adding something like ocean green or something to that effect. I also see 2 shades of green available for sedans-Mist green and Crystal green. Juniper green became the standard color in '53.

Hey Kyle make for sure that you see this color in person so that you can see it in the shade, in the sun, under show room lights. Trust me under all three of these lights it will look different. Just make sure this is the color for you. I have changed my mind several times on color. Right now the one that catches my eye is the blue on the new C6 corvette. Who know's what it will be tommorrow. But as far as the color goes. I used to work on vettes for a living and only saw 2 this color in person. It is a magnificent color and I do believe you would like it.

Nothing wrong with a muscle car. If I were going to fix a muscle car it would be a 71 camaro, but there I go again adding more projects. Oh yeah it would be black with white racing stripes. Okay I need to stop now, I'm getting excited thinking about it......

Color choice... I found a simple way to make the choice tougher is to look at the "Custom Classic Trucks" magazine. LOTS of ideas already on the trucks themselves. If I weren't a Chiefs fan and lover of resale red :)D ) I'd probably go green also! It goes good with chrome wheels too! Mine will be red on top, yellow stripe, then white below. rattle rattle ;)

Hey Zig finally you went to the news stand. Great magazine isn't it? Did you see the blue 71 C-10. What a beautiful color on that one. And you and that rattle can, that cracks me up. Dad wants me to paint the truck a candy apple orange. I have seen a few this color and is absolutely gorgeous. Who knows what color it will be. Right now it's etching primer green.

Any girl that is into old cars is a keeper. Mine would rather have a new BMW while I drive around in my old truck. But atleast she doesn't mind me playing with my truck.
