Are you kidding Steve? I've got the grill going now! 5 breathers smothered in Gates B-B-Que sauce. It really is the sauce that makes the difference, I've found. I'm thinkin' about putting out a cook book... Engine parts and other entrees (sp?) (I'm NOT going to look it up!):D I'll give you a free autographed copy of your own. I mean after all- you were the man!;)

    Never BBQ a breather!

You've got to saute' it. Soak it in kerosene until it rans clear! Then slow cook it until done to perfection!

    Too close to the fire!

You fellows reminded me of a NIGHTMARE I had the other night, it started a few weeks ago, let me tell you how it went.

True part - My daughter (the Boop) and wife went to town, picked up some items and came back by the local grab a snack, they turned the ol cummins off in the Dodge and ,,, uh oh,,, it don't shut off. A few seconds later smoke began to bellow from under the hood. Of course with all the sissy men around, no one knows what to do. So they all run up to the truck, cant figure out how to open the hood, so the Boop shows em how:D , then they still don't know what to do, so the Boop tells a man there to pull the battery cable off the battery:D and she shuts down but want crank. Well, again no man knows what to do and the Boop is lost also (she knows gas not diesel) so she call dad - that's me:D proud father of the Boop that saved the day and kept the Dodge from burning up.

Well it was the fuel shut off solenoid hung, I tie it closed with a piece of rope and drive it home, fix it the next day and all is fine. UNTILLLLLLLL

Dream part - a few nights ago i dreamed that the same thing happened again, but this time it was in front of my WONDERFUL TENT SHOP. Of course the plastic walls catch on fire and the next morning I find the Boops ride a burnt twisted pile of chared metal

I moved the truck away from the shop/tent.

SO be carful with the bar b Q stories:D

That's not a dream but a Bad nightmare. Don't even think that way. We all have too much time & effort in Boops truck to allow that to happen.

    Tell me about it.

I know,,, that's why I got the Dodge out of Dodge and moved it away from the shop/tent.

I didn't tell the Boop, she might park the Dodge out in the street with a sign, "take it, it's free"

And it's the only vehicle we have running right now... try that with 3 people who drive going 3 different directions. It takes us having a daily planner just for the Dodge. You got to schedule your time to use it:eek: serious business, and I'll sure be glad when the Boops ride is done.

A one car family is the pits now days, but it can be done.

I do have the sheriff car, but the Sheriff don't like us using it for personal pleasure, imagine that!

    Cute story, TB's D!

One more reason for me to get up there and help bail you out! Question for you. Do Dodge starters still sound like garbage disposals on steroids?:D

    Starter on steroids

Well, it does have it's own distinct sound, this one is more like a hyper cow:eek:

It is 24v, and does a great job of turnin that cummins over, but man it is expensive to fix. A few months ago it hung in start mode. Come to find out one of the contacts in the starter of which both are about 1/4 inch thick was worn paper thin. The starter repair places wouldn't sell me the parts because they say "that's how we make our money". I understand that, but the part would be cheep, and they all want around 175 bucks to "rebuild it' . It don't need rebuilding, it only needs 1 contact. So the cheep penny I am, and the fact that I've never paid ANYBODY to do mechanic work for me. I took er out, broke er down, and reversed the good contact with the bad one. She's still startin fine, only cost about 45 minutes time. I have since found the part for 5 bucks but havent had the time to replace it yet.

To answer your original question, No, it sounds more normal than the old ones. The old girl has 275,000 miles and still kickin. Now if the body would hold up it would be a great truck. The interior is falling apart, but motor, trans, rear end and all are still gettin er dun.

    TB'sD... Can't I ever just answer a simple question with a simple answer?:D

Boopster, You need at least 100 words plus or we get bored with your answer. By the way most of us seem to have some form of ADD,ADA what ever you want to call it. That's what makes it fun. Looking at some of the forums we normally take at least a full page if not 2 to get back to the point of the original question.
