    Hey,
My name is Chris and I own a 57' 1/2 ton GMC and I'm currently in the process of doing a complete restoration of him "the truck is named Herbie". I hope I can be of some help to some of you and vice versa.

Welcome! If you're anywhere near Houston, you need to hook up with Bill Hanlon. Great guy with an awesome '57 GMC.

    Welcome Chris.

Where in Texas? I'm in Klein, 30 miles north of downtown Houston.

GMC drivers are few and far between on this board.

Let me know if there is anything I can help you with. I have a small stash GMC specific of parts and a bunch of documentation.

I live in Merkel which is about 20 miles west of Abilene off I-20. Its good to finally hear that someone other than myself has a GMC. Right now mine doesn't look to good but sooner or later I'll get him looking real good.

Bill doesn't like to brag about his truck so I will!

That truck looks real snazzy. I hope I can get mine looking somewhat like that here pretty soon. Lots of work to do and not enough time to do it. By the way do any of ya'll know where I can find an original or replica am radio?? Been looking for one for years, still have the original but it would need some major work to be in top condition again.

It looks better in the picture than in person. It has been my every day driver since 1990. Went to the dump Saturday twice, full of branches I trimmed from the trees in the yard. And drove home from work tonight through a thunderstorm.
