i've got some new toys. this one's a coolant system filter/conditioner. anybody knowledgeable in this arena? i'm not even sure if it's practical to install it, but it looked really cool and i think i read somewhere that these things were an available option back in the day. any more info?

    O.K. , Now I'm Insanely Jealous

Where are you finding this stuff ?! .

Are you rich ? do you need a boyfreind ? (wife WHACKS my head) :p

This is to be mounted in the heatr line so it'll be a by-pass deal just like the oil filter but it's a good thing ! .

    Sweet!

I'm with you Nate! Where is he coming up with this stuff? First, it's the PCV system, then the Fulton sunvisor, now this. (He's about the pi$$ me off;))

With that said, do you have a set of these for your runningboards? These are way cool and very functional!

thanks guys! i was reading the instructions, and it says something about changing out the element every 1,000 miles or something. think that's a big deal, or should i just spit shine it and slap it on there?

A friend has one on his '52 truck. Does look cool and I think add's to the look under the hood. He has not changed his filter keep's a good brand of coolant in the system and told me he took it out a few times to check but was fine. He did look around but could not find any replacement filter element anyway so he was just going to clean it each time he flush's the cooling system. Which he does every year anyway.

...Is what I call 'em

If you remember to do annual coolant flush & fill , just clean it then and you should be fine .

Running board treads ~ wow no , I don't have any , my truck is a stripper and I add bits and pieces as I find them.... ;)

When they crown me King I supposed I'll finally have the truck completely gone through but it _won't_ be ' restored ' ~ it'd be built to my specs , just like they were when sold to the original purchasers who put them to hard work....

    Several vendors sell repops!

But hold out for the real McCoy! You should see how brittle the instructions and mounting template are!

If anyone else is thinkin' about a visor...
Guess I'll have to post pics of the two I have in my basement. The '49 Dodge I had came with one. (Kept it, sold the car) My '52 GMC came with one. I'll sell/trade/give away, but keep my truck!

    You got it!

The '52 has a real cool small diamond pattern in it on both sides of the smooth center and edges. I believe its stainless? The one from the Dodge is more like Jon's. I'll see what I can do as far as posting pics goes. I'm still getting used to how that works, so it takes time...
It may not happen 'till this weekend, but I'll get them posted!
