283 mans 1966 c-10 shortbed fleetside progress

    How do you like those? Does the coating seem to be staying on ok? rsibley

    It would be good idea to go with the short headers like DVals talking about just to be on safe side.:)

    I like the "sound" too. I used Smitty's mufflers. The truck sounded like a 58 Olds lowrider back in the fifties ! And, for added effect, I had the muffler guy install dump tubes right behind the front wheels. It was fun to cruise around the Goodguys show with the caps cracked about 1/2 way. ;)

    Thats what Im looking for on my new 283 "SOUND":cool::D from stock ram horn excaust to headers with glass packs they are like the old thurst glass packs.

    As a cost saving measure I used the ram horn (center dump) manifolds and piped them into flowmaster cans and it sounds GREAT. Coated them with VHT high temp black and it has not burned off or rusted yet. For years up here we have used those type of manifolds on the Nascar Late Model cars because they perform so well.........

    Val, I did also think of runninig cutouts too............have done in the past on a sleeper car and WHAT A BLAST........especially when people are not expecting it............
