Welcome ! Is it a stocker or another Hot Rod ? . If it's an InLine 6 Banger with ' GMC ' stamped in the rockerbox , you're a lucky man ~ those are ' Long Motors ' and they're VERY good . Look on the engine block just behind the disributor and scrape off the grease , you should see a stamped in serial number , the first threwe digets tell you the engine's displacement in Cubic Inches , if it says ' 302 ' WOW are you a lucky boy . Not a lot of unrusted old trucks left in Louisiana .

The truck is from KY and I bought her in Florida and waiting for a carrier to bring her here. Welcome newbie. Trust me you aren't on the wrong site. I'm as far away from stock as they come, just ask Ken he's seen my truck (well frame) in person and he can tell you there is nothing stock about mine. I know it's a "G" but we'll forgive you for that. Plus the truck is from Ky so there can't be anything wrong with that, I'm from Paducah Ky originally. Can't wait to see more pics of it and what's your plans with the truck.

Happy Birthday! We're all proud to be a part of your new child's birth! (Even if it IS on Halloween!) That looks like one beautiful ride~ and that fact it's a G... Did I ever mention the web site that listed costs of old ADs? It was a site that gave the value of these trucks... It showed how every G was worth more than the Chevy counterpart. I'm not sure why I bring this up- I guess I just found that interesting... Welcome, young man! Glad to have another G in our midst!
Well Zig Thanks, And Granpa and the rest....She should arrive tomorrow and I am excited.. I was born in 47 and it means all the more to me so I am not a young man..LOL.. I know how these AD's can be a lost part of our past especially after WW2 and wont go into the flag waving, but I feel a bond to this truck as an American. God Bless America, as we used to say.

She is here.. and the neighborhood is all aghast..lol..loud with the flowmasters..pics are coming..appears to need some wet sanding but otherwise a fine specimen and something to be proud of.. patience will work for all of us. I promise to post pics this weekend. Nothing like an AD!!!!
Too Much Noise ! ...Is it a 6 Banger ? if so , toss that junk Flowmaster POC in the trash and listen to the sweet sweet sound of an open pipe 6 cylinder InLine engine , NO MUFFLER is needed , not in Beverly Hills even.... (assuming you have a full length exhaust pipe) Flowmasters make that terrible basso profundo noise that sounds great when you have a V-8 with twice pipes but terrible nasty and a ticket magnet when put on a 4 or 6 Banger...
