I just rebuilt all the door window fuzzies. Everything new. When I roll the windows up the glass mounting metal on the bottom hangs up on the "beaded window seals with clips" part #03-567 (for a 62). Both sides do the same thing. If I grab the window and push it around a bit while holding a lot of pressure on the window crank the window finally slips up into place. This won't work while I'm driving down the road! The window mount metal is original and the windows have not been taken out of them so it has not been spread. I tried pushing in on the bottom of the seals and tweeking the door metal in so the window slides by but it didn't help. What did I do wrong? How do I fix it?
Did you install the fuzzies with weather strip adhesive ?? It sounds like they might be sticking out a tad too much, ( it dosn't take much), and interfering with the window. Is it the glass channel on the bottom of the window that is making contact with the fuzzies ? If you use some weather strip adhesive just use a dab every few inches and use some hand clamps to hold the fuzzies tight against the window opening until the adhesive cures. ( about 1 hour in cold weather) Take a look at the window glass channel to make sure it is not sticking out slightly. Val
Did you also replace the anti rattle strips? When I removed my old ones the metal bent inward a little bit. This caused the window not go go up all the way unless I pulled up on the window while cranking. To fix this push the metal back down (I used the rubber end of some pliers) until the window operates normally. Also make sure the rubber is fully seated in the door chanell.
I put the fuzzies in with the supplied clips not adhesive. It is the glass channel on the bottom of the window that is hitting. The window channels look fine. I taped off the glass, bead blasted the metal and repainted it.
I'm not sure what the anti rattle strips are. I relined the devision bar channels (those are the ones right behind the vent window) and I installed new door glass channels. You may have my problem here, I just don't understand what to tweek. The doors were apart for over a month. That's longer than my memory.
Yes I put those in. That is what the window channel is hanging on. They have got to go! In the street rods we use smaller pieces and just glue them in. These were nice since they were all cut and preshaped. I may try the glue in trick, as mentioned above, with these parts before pitching them in favor of the smaller ones. Thanks!
Door Windows wont go all the way up Hello Beck. The thread is really old, but what did you end up doing to get your anti rattle strips (door fuzzies) to clear the window sash, after installing your new fuzzies? Mine is doing same thing, and now won't roll up all the way. It seems the clips on the Re-pops are positioned too low on the new part, and it is hitting on what seems to be the bottom of the outside fuzzie strip. the rest of the kit seems to fit ok (division channel and side channel). Thanks.
