I hope you all enjoyed your trucks as much as I did this weekend.:p I put 70 miles on the newly rebuilt engine without a heck-up, after adjusting the valves and a oil change she's been running with a smile on her face. Here is a pic from this weekends cruising, a couple of ol' gals looking for a little TLC.

I love that first picture. I saved it as my computer wallpaper. Your truck looks really good. I like the two tone.

    Dog Gone!

Mike~ I was hoping you had square wheels on that truck!:D

Beautiful ride! ...and you actually can drive it...

    ~sigh~:(

BTW~ Is that a 3/4??? It looks as though there are eight lugs?

Yea...the square wheels didn’t work to well. However, I bet the square wheels would get allot of attention. Thanks for all the complements; I'll post some pics of the inside when I get my camera charged up. Also thanks too all of you for all your guidance thus far, I have leaned allot from all of you. What did we ever do before the internet?

    Isn't THAT the truth?

I agree 100%, Mike! I've yet to finish taking my truck apart and these guys have helped me see my way through SO many different things I could do to my truck. I am so appreciative of all the help and ideas! I have no doubt that by the time I put mine back together, it will be the absolute best thing that I could do to have my truck the way _I_ want it! I also know that if I hadn't stumbled onto this site, I would have been lost as to what I could do, or I'd be reinventing the wheel. (But probably not like you did, Mike!);)

What did we do before the internet?

Here's what we did! We subscribed to Hemmings, Old Cars Weekly, and Cars and Parts and wrote letters! I was going through some stuff after dad died and came up with several letters that a gentleman from Canada had written to my dad concerning dad's 40 sedan delivery. What takes us minutes now used to take weeks to get good info. I for one, am glad that we have the net to do research, but I'm especially glad that I found this site! You guys are great!

Amen. The internet was a nasty, work driven, got to get this problem resolved now, kind of place for me prior to getting my truck and stumbling onto you guys. Now it is the one part of my day where I enjoy finding out what is, has and can be done on our AD's and in a very different way get to "know" some great people from around the globe! Thanks. This is a great site.

    Before The 'Net

I was lucky in that back then these were still just old trucks in daily use all over so I worked on 'em and knew lots of older junkyards where I could go to chase parts and ask the old timers their opinion...

Just taking the darned thing apart and fixing it as it dies was a way to learn too .

I've been reading and memorizing shop manuals since I was in short pants just in case I'd run across a '46 DeSoto with a balky Gyro-Matic tranny or a Studebaker with Hill - Holder .... :)

This Internet thing is the best thing since ratcheting socket sets . :D
