So ; No more rattle can paint eh ? . What kind of gun will you squirt it with ? . Paint ? single stage or what ? .
practice makes perfect Now you have had some practice to hone your skills, go out an get a real truck(chevy) and stop wasting your time on a pretender
Good Question! Good question, Nate! I didn't have the papers on it, so using it has been all guesswork and determination. I'll post a picture so I can find out what the heck it is. It IS a PITA. Most passes the paint comes out perfect, every once in a while it decides to do twice the volume. Yeah~ runs! You know what? It's painted then cleared and it will stay shiny and look great for years to come. That's all I care about. Painting with a gun really is w-a-y neater than rattle cans, I must admit! (Just more cleanup time...)
Thanks everyone! The yellow line really isn't jagged like it shows in the picture. Honest! Back to work on it.
Well.... The way they're playing, one block would be toooo far! Seriously, it's a 2.5 hour drive, and one I will take when it's all finished and $$$ permit. Guess who I'm taking with me? A hint is: She's 5 right now... I just need to make sure I have those shoulder belts in first.
Juliano's I just need to make sure I have those shoulder belts in first.[/QUOTE] FYI - I ordered the shoulder belt setup direct from Julianos, and the lap belts were too short. I had to order 24" ones, without credit offered for the original shipped ones. Any of you guys who are considering this great safety set up, make sure you get the longer lap latches for our original style tall seats with your original order and try to save yourselves an extra $42!
Wow Paul you have been busy!!! Looks great though, I'm thinkin its time for me to come and take a look, you sure have done a lot since i saw it last.
Chiefs My truck makes her tail-gating debut this weekend. It's only a 30 minute drive for me though. Can't wait. Is the truck in your avatar the same one you are working on now?
This is it for now~ Well, it quit raining long enough for me to get this far. That will probably be it for the year as far as paint goes. I have plenty else to keep me busy though! BTW~ Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier on this, Mike. Yes, that is my avatar truck that I'm giving the once over, twice!
Wow! Looking awesome Zig! I'm curious. What color are the front fenders going to be? What's the paint scheme for the bed and rear fenders?
Thanks, Brother! Well, the rest of the truck will be white. (I think.) The hood will have the red and yellow come to a point at the ed of the hood. The only thing I'm not quite sold on would be white running boards. I'm thinking that red might be more "pleasing" to the eye, but...? The next thing will be gaskets for the block and weather stripping for the window glass. After that, LEAF SPRINGS!!! After I've got all that done, I can hook up your oil bath air cleaner and start work on valve adjustments. When all that's done, it'll be spring, and I can start on welting and fender replacement and a disc brake conversion!
Hopefully he's replacing the G grille with a C grille. Too pretty of a cab to put that ugly grille back in it!
wow... looking good mr Zig looking good. Keep the pics coming!!! Thanks again for the clevis, I hooked it up and it works, now i just have to bleed the brakes and I will be ready to stop. many many thanks
Photos later~ Just wanted to pass on what a GREAT day I had! 2 hours and the back and corner glass is all installed! It took a full can of elbow grease, but our host's window rubber (and $7.00 tool) worked perfectly! I finalized my paint scheme today, also! It will kick butt! Just wait! Of course, I'm trying to make a G look good, so give me extra points when you see what I came up with, K?
OK its later....... where are the pictures. HAHAHA On a serious note your truck will need a KC arrow head someplace on the truck.
Hey Sweet~ You know that big flag you have stuck in your bed? I'll be flying one just like that, but it will be the Chiefs flag. (Don't ask me why...)
