Wich kind of Saginaw tranny can i use in my 1/2ton from 1946 (216cui, 4-speed crash box on the floor and torque tube) I think about change my tranny and found at eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-SP....c0.m245&_trkparms=72:543|65:12|39:1|240:1318 If i use Patricks kit fits this?? Volker
tranny That one will work but the ratio is not the best. Look for one with the correct 2 grooves on spline...it is the best with a 3:11 first gear.
Saginaw Trannies So ; Where do I go looking for the two groove Saginaw tranny ? What's it's original ittment ? . What vehicles used the no groove tranny ? . TIA ,
saginaw I talked with Patrick and he said my trans is too small (a special case in 1946) to change without cutting the driveline. It was an idea but i found now that's the original is the best. ...and i can learn to drive with the old crash box. Volker
