    Hello,
    today a went to a tractor garage which has inch screw taps. I like to know what kind of threads are on the oil pressure tube and on the oil hose from the oil canister to the engine block.
    After checking various taps the garage men told me that the thread is a metric thread M10 x 1 mm. Could it be that American cars of the 50th had metric threads?
    If got my truck from California, it was never as I know in Europe before.
    Ask the wondering:confused::confused:

    Re:Metric Thread

    Wolfgang,hello. I think you will find that the threads in question are NPT,national pipe thread size, a US standard. I'm not sure you can find these sizes in Germany,but ask around, you may be able to locate these outside the U.S.
    Have a good day,John
