Hello, my truck has a aftermarket harrison heater model H(4?)-172. It seems that the heater is not complete. I don't know how fix the radiator in the frame of the heater housing. Has anyone the photos of this part or know how to get a technical drawing? Could someone send my a installation manual as photo or tell me where I can get these manual? Ask Wolfgang
Need PICTURES ! Harrison is the OEM manufacturer of both heater core and radiator so posting a picture will facilitate identification of your heater .
Photo of the heater Hello Nate, thank you for helping, I will try it the days to make some photos. Wolfgang
Wolfgang, Chevy offered 2 different heaters for these trucks, but there were also many different aftermarket heaters that could be modified to fit. The first picture is of a "fresh air" or deluxe heater. The second picture is of a "recirculating" heater. If you have the deluxe heater, there is a good tech article on restoring one of these on Deve's website.
Nice trophy case! Hey big brother~ is that the Piston Cup trophy I see in that trophy case? Well done heater, of course!
Photos of the heater Hello Nate, as you wished, here are two photos of the heater that was in part package to my truck. Wolfgang
Heater That looks to me like a passenger car heater , '38 or so . If it fits the firewall holes , I say use it .
Harrion heater and shut off valve? Hello Nate, what do you think where could I get a shut of valve for the heater? Do you have any idea? Ask Wolfgang
Hot Water Valve It depends on what you want Wolf , most Chevy trucks came with a simple valve that screwed into the cylinder head and you had to open the hood to turn it on or off . this can be purchased at any hardware store . The DeLuxe heater had a teperature regulating valve made by the Ranco Company , this is not currently being reproduced but they do show up occasionally and NAPA Auto Parts Co. sells the rubber diaphragm that usually leaks and needs replacing . Maybe put a "wanted" ad in the classified section , '47 ~ '54 heater valve and rod wanted , something like that .
heater control valve All street rod suppliers carry cable controled inline valves. I have bought them from Southern Rods and Parts. About $15.00.This valve and a universal choke cable and you are good to go.
cable controled inline valves Hello Sunny, can you give me mroe detailed information, where can I find it in the www? Ask Wolfgang
Wolfgang, you can buy it in Germany: http://www.virtualvillage.de/heimwerken/wasser/ventil/~category_id=DEDY07003 or try Regelventil 12V with google. I bougth it for my Chevy. SouthernRods have a lot of shipping cost. The total to Germany is $141 and the valve cost $15 Volker
thqt's terrible Hello Volker, thanks for your tip. I think I'll try to get one in Germany. If not not I'll will send it to a guy in USA who send me parts to Germany before. Wolfgang
