I have not been able to get any seat time in with my tractorsfor about a month, and fighting a cold for a week. However when ever I get to feeling bad about not visiting them and getting out of the L.A./Ventura area rat race I visit a site I would like to share. These fine people are living my dream. Hope you enjoy their site. http://www.happyoldiron.com/1518109.htm
Neat website, Charles! I really enjoyed looking through the stationary engines! In the early '70's, dad and I must have bought up darn near every one of the ones in Henry Co. Tennessee. Got 2 left at mom's now, one that runs and one that needs a lot of TLC (and a new magneto)! We used to call them one lungers! Thanks for the memories, my friend! Ken
old iron is a sickness!!! That was a neat website, I had to winterize my tractors a couple of weeks ago so all I can do now is look at them I gess I had some fun whith a some of my old "one lungers" as ken would put it, last weekend. Here are some pictures of some of my old toys. The john deere was my first tractor my grandpa gave it to me. The cub I restored in high school for a ffa project and my wallis I am currently restoring. You guys should put some picures of you tractors and old hit n miss engines on here. thanks Jesse
Ken, I miss the sound of those old one lungers, the guys in the oil fields had them going all the time. I have stayed away from getting into buying any do to the fact I would buy all up I could find. The tractors right now 10 are keeping me busy when I go to the property there in Az. . Made the mistake of fixing a pedal jeep into a wagon from a VERY very Bad fleebay deal and now have about 20 junk pedal cars I'm (may be) going to fix. But the Happy Old Iron site does me good. Jesse, I have wanted a Wallis for some time, I do have a 1936 MH Challenger that is my very Favorite of all. Do you have any of the books on the Wallis? At the property I have some booklets on the Wallis and Challenger which is just a row crop Wallis in MH clothing. Wish you were closer, I come over and help you put it back together. Enjoy.
Jesse, Here are some posts I have put up before, my computor right now will not load any photos and I still have old dail up. https://talk.classicparts.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=2288&cat=2 , https://talk.classicparts.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=2291&cat=500 . When I get the computor fixed I'll try and post others, there are some others on the site somewhere.
