It has been a while but wanted you all to have the opportunity to see what the media did not cover in my home state. Regards, Bill Nashville Flood
I live up the road in Knoxville, hang in there TN. people are great and stick together.Need help, holler.
wow that is a powerful video. I live in the KC area, and they really didn't show much of this. I knew it flooded, but nothing to that extent. Nation media sure didn't care much. You guys will get through it
Thanx ! The L.A. news carried quite a bit of this . I am glad to hear of minimal loss of life , everything else can be replaced . Tenn. , isn't that " The Volunteer State " ? . no wonder you all pulled to-gether , typical Mid - Western values and dedication . City folks always wonder why I talk about Flood Plains and have flood insurance in So. Cal. .
Nate, We are a Southern State!! We Volunteer for everywhere else. We've got folks from Greeneville TN. putting in 70-80 hour weeks over there. Thats just the Rroad/Bridge inspectors I know. Its so weird, here in the Mountains of TN we got only 1 1/4 inches. I hope the worst is past for them. God Bless them! PS Took the 53' up for straight pipes without mufflers (they didn't carry sans? mufflers). Did use Willards crossover recommendation. "Stick Trick" worked on bleeding lines after a 5 hour hip wrenching the day before. Flashlight
oh shit i've been in Nashville in 2005 and i can remember that was a beautiful trip. It's terrible to see so many water. If you can remember we had the big water in 2002. It's a crazy world today - too hot or too cold or too many water. @Flashlight: I think my teddy bear from the hardrock cafe is now very wet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3IfHVEwTuk&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZKTWz4xc1w that was 8mi away from my home town
Volker, Don't worry I can get a Hard Rock Teddy in Gatlinburg. Nashville will be cleaned up in a very short time. Maybe next year, if you are very good, I can get one again in Nashville. I don't want to hear anymore complaints about 1940's American Technology. Flashlight
I just got back from visiting my mom in W. Tennessee last week. There was a lot of devastation in the state, with Nashville having been one of the worst. The greatest thing I saw watching the local news last week out of Nashville was the spirit of cooperation and neighbors helping neighbors. I'm proud to say that I am a former resident of that great state and I have no doubt that those good people will rebuild their lives and continue to make the Volunteer State a great place to live and a great place to get away to! Ken
What Kind Of Idiot Would complain about 1940's Technology ? it's mostly damn near perfect ~ " Form Follows Function " . Most other countires still use it everywhere , unlike America .
It is a big mess. I am thankful to be able to help my neighbors since my damage was slight. I spent a whole weekend helping families dig their homes out of the leftover muck which was exhausting (physicaly and emotionaly). Some of these folks are still numb from the disaster that flooded places that have never flooded before. We have a very good network to assist in our recovery which includes both government and private entities, but I suspect it will take years. Our volunteer system is quite well organised (Hands On Nashville for one) and can always use support. I am very proud of this community and the repsonse to these days of need. I apppreciate all your support. Terry
Flood everywhere around in this world also in Norway? In my country Norway flood and other natutare coused disasters are taking many lifes every year and people lost there homes with all impact it has. Norway is that country in northern Europe with enourmes lakes and mountain ranges. Facts shows how wild water rivers tracks there way through places where it normally runs controlled.
