I am looking for the back half of a 51 3/4 ton drive shaft it should be approximately 32" long and have 16 splines on the end or I could use the whole drive shaft. It is the old factory torque tube drive shaft. Hopefully some one close by can help me. I am in North Central Illinois

Seems like that should be an easy score at a salvage yard that has some history behind it. There might be something like that in the adds part of this site, no?
    Good luck with your search.
Are you planning to stick with the 3/4 rear or go to something more highway friendly?
    More photos?

Thanks Zig I am using a different rear end but that is the shaft I am using. I have the 3/4 shaft and I had it shortened but after making some modification I now need it just a little bit longer. I was hoping to maybe find someone that changed their drive train and has one they don't need. I have checked with some local yards and apparently these things are made of gold or something because they want way to much for just a little 3 foot drive shaft so if someone knows someone or a yard that is not trying to get rich off every little piece they sell please let me know. Thank you

I may have one of these shafts. Have you found one yet?

I would imagine a custom shaft from a shop that does this might be as cheap. We've got a couple shops here in the sticks that do it. Also, many local welder-car enthusiast's can do it as well. By the time you pay for shipping and for the old shaft, it might be easier just to get it made. Even a generic shaft from another GMC (note GMC canabalism is acceptable) with the right spline count could be cut down. Just some thoughts. I know Nate or Ken's gonna say this "you can make a long board short, but not a short board long".
