I see 47-53 inner front fenders for sale by many vendors, but not 54-55. What is the difference? ARe 54-55 inners available?
I believe there was a body style change between 54 and 55, some say the body style change was in 55 between the 55 first series and the second series, not sure, so as to what inner fender will work depends on the body style you have, either 47-54 or 55-59.
47-55 first series are the same with the exceptions of the 54-55 first series changes such as the 1 piece windshield, massive grill, dash board and flat top bed sides with embossing s on them. The 55 first series was the same as the 54 except for the 3100 hood emblems were different and an open driveline instead of a closed one. The 55 second series is when the trucks started looking like the 55-59's. I do believe that the inner fenders are the same for all the 47-55 first series chevys and gmc's although the front fenders for the 54-55 first series were a little different to allow for the massive grills. Out of all the trucks and even though I do have a 54 chevy, I think the 54 gmc was the nicest out of the bunch because it was more unique than the rest....Big Tim
