    I'm about to pull my t350 out for a 700r. You need to switch it out. We'll lock the clutch pedal in place for a footrest. no one has to know......

    Switching from a stick to auto, you end up stomping on the "clutch" once in a while anyway. This fake clutch pedal would keep you from locking up the tires by accident.

    Clutch Pedal

    Understood ~

    When I converted my 1959 Metropolitan Nash FHC to automatic , I left the clutch pedal in situ , it still makes that satisfying thump as it hits the toe board :p .

    I'm going to miss this old truck but all good things must end in due time .

    Wolf....what do you think!!...the place is over-run with G-men. By the way Nate when you advertise it, one way to assure top dollar is to mention all those old parts under the seat.

    I love the way you MacGyver your way home after a breakdown. Squished condensers, old spark plugs and rotors. Fuel pumps from old "beans & Weeny" cans. Tin foil from old condom packs, you' da Man. The list just goes on. Your a legend here! lol

    Why

    Hey Nate,

    why you´re parting with it? Any new toy coming along?

    By the way, are there any pictures of your rides, also curious of your Merc?,
    as i used to do my apprentice at our local dealership.

    Hopefully we still get your hints on those nasty issues;)

    Not To Worry

    As I'll DIE a bowtie guy :p

    You are correct , my knowledge cannot be sold as it's worthless . some of the things I've done to keep moving or ' git 'er dun ' , I'll never tell as I'm embarrased .

    It'll always be free and I like it here , this is home to me , you alls oughta know that by now :eek: .

    I just can't keep up with the work it needs , always something I want to tinker up , I now have Bendix brakes to install and I may never get to that :(

    and i missed it!

    hell must have frozen over and I missed it!

    I never would have thought this would happen. I thought that truck was attached to you surgically!

    I suppose all good things must come to an end. We'll have to upload more pictures now more than ever so you don't miss it so much.

    What??????

    Really. I find it hard to believe that you would let that truck go. Seriously, what is so bad about it that cannot be fixed in a weekend? It's the simplest vehicle around. Blown engine? Find another 235 for free from some hotrodder. Bad tranny? They GIVE those things away. Clutch gone? Half a day to change it out. Bad brakes? Rebuild the entire system for next to nothing. Crappy wiring harness? $100.00 from many vendors.

    You getting tired or something? Or just tired of the upkeep?

    Say it ain't so Nate.

    Andy

    Sadly ;

    It IS so ~ . In addition to needing simple repairs (clutch & U-Joint) that make me wince just *thinking* about them , I cannot keep it due to lack of space ~ the God's honest truth is : I haven't even driven it in a long time now :( .

    I know I'll miss it horribly when it's gone but life is what it is and I'm not getting any younger ya know . I spent lunchtime Friday pushing my tiny Honda CT90 a mile + back to the shop then I rakes leacves for 20 minutes in my backyard Saturday morning , the rest of the weekend was agony and I'm still not good to go yet but i have work to do to - noght after I go Off Duty so who knows when I'll ever toch my beloved 1949 Chevy 3100 series PEE - CUP again .

    Maybe I can get someone to list it on Deutschland (!SP! sorry !) Flea-Bay ? they seem to pay top dollar for junk and this isn't a junker .

    This is a *very* sad day for me folks , make no mistake about that :( .

    I doubt I'm a legend anywheres , not even in my own (tiny,alleged) mind ;) .

    Just for the record,Nate. Have you considered even for a moment installing an EARLY 50's powerglide in that thing? Should bolt right up!

    Slushbox Tranny

    Well;

    As much as I like Slip 'N Slide Powerglides , the reality is : they're geared fsar too low so a Dual Hydromatic would be the thing and yes , I've thought about it many times but if I cannot do a clutch , how will I do a slushbox upgrade / .

    This sux .

    Dang, Nate, I sure wish you had those lottery winnings and was nearby. I made an "Old Man" friendly ride out of my 37 Buick so a "Banged Up" ride out of a 49 would be duck soup. Polypropalene between the spring leaves for the back, tie rod assist power steering for the shoulders, an under floor pb setup for the right leg, and a BRAND NEW Dynaflow torque tube type tranny that could easily have the Buick bell on the front replaced with a Chevy one (for the left leg). My upholstery guy can do wonders with seat firmness and lumbar support(s). Cruise control for the long runs to the desert---this is a must for me to keep the old knee joint from locking up. Of course all this might cause you to go sissy and want a/c.
