    Hey guys

After i did a new inspection of the Saginaw tranny we found nothing wrong really. But is it posseble that the vibrations in the tranny by some ways can be caused by some unballance in the rearend torque or wheel axle ?

I've had fly wheel bolts come loose and cause a vibration. Also bad u joints can cause a vibration too. Basically anything that rotates you should check out if you're having trouble pin pointing the problem.....

I think i mentioned that there is a bad or none at all clearance between your Aftermarket shifter and Power brake booster. I had to do some creative grinding on my shifter bolts and your new after market brake booster, also extra cramping because of the cross member....which I reluctantly removed, but have had no problems with.

Just a random thought. Check for clutch slippage.

Big Jim U joints question ?

    Hey Big Jim

Do you know how much clearing/loose the ujoints it self has to move up and down as the bolts are closed by some metal plates?
The one i have installed is new. I will check the fly wheel bolts tomorrow.

    Thank you.

U joints are pretty simple, there shouldn't be any movement when the drive line is in place and tight. If you feel any movement at all it should only be the gear lash in the rear end. With a automatic tranny you can put the truck in gear and with your foot on the brake shift from drive to reverse and back to drive and if the U joints are bad you will hear a clunking sound. Just make sure the noise you hear is the U joints and nt the rear end. You can do this same test with a standard trans too, it's just not as easy. Also if I'm reading your post right the U joints need to fit snug between the ends of the yoke before you put the caps on or you have the wrong U joints.... Big Tim
