Hi Ya'll I'm a Dane living in Sweden, spent 2,5 years in NJ, so I guess you can say I've been around. I'm about to start on my 1950 1 Ton Panel, that my fantastic wife gave me last year for my 50th birthday. We do everything together, even garage wrenching! Lookin forward to spending some quality time with other AD'ers Klaus
Thanks! Can't hardly wait to start working on it... It's gonna be a blast! Special thred on the build will follow! Klaus
Welcome aboard ! Nice looking truck there . What engine / tranny is in it now ? . The good folks here know pretty much everything about these old rigs so don't hesitate to ask away .
Thanks Nate 1960 235 and a T-5.. and she's riding on 1955 1st series 1/2 ton axles. that's why she dosen't have the big ass 17" rims Klaus
Looks like you've got a real clean start. I love the panel trucks. Looking forward to seeing the project. Any questions, ask these guys. They literally know EVERYTHING POSSIBLE about these trucks. Heck, I think maybe Nate even built some of them at the factory Welcome aboard.
Well! She didn't look this nice when first purchased back in Aug 09. A bud was going to make it roadworthy for a trip across the States and back, we did last year, before we brought to Sweden, this was what he managed to do in 10 month. We'll go on from there!
Klaus, Welcome to the Blog, your Panal wagon is beautiful and I'm sure will only get better as the fever is about to get your better judgement. You will probably go through the usual symtoms and problems as you upgrade and restore your truck. Wow, your wife is Fantastic if she gave you one of these....mine keeps telling me to sell it!! Flashlight
Thanks Flash! Yeah I know the feeling of loosing your grip on a project... Seen it happen many times! A buddy of mine took the front fenders of his '54 BelAir to paint a little 4 years later it was in a million pieces and the "a little bit of freshing up" went a little out of hand, as it so easily happen. Myself I have a tentensy to spread it out over several years, doing just what's needed so I can get the damn thing on the road, then continiue next winther My wife an I just did a "quick" job her '50 IH that she's gonna use as a daily! It came home in the same container as the Panel. [/IMG] 4 month later and about 1000 hours, split between 2 lunatics! [/IMG] but that's a story for a different board! Klaus
Welcome, Klaus! Lucky you! A pannel AND a wife that loves working on trucks! Too cool! Welcome aboard, and I look forward to seeing updates on your pannel!
Really Zig!! Klaus a lot of the fellas are too shy to ask, so they have asked me because I have the biggest mouth.
