I've been holding on to this frame mounted tank from a 47-48 model that I had the idea of mounting and using the stock filler on the cab for a filler. That way I could put the spare back under the rear. I had it all figured out in my head but didn't take into consideration that 3600's rear end is more narrow than the 3100 donor and after measuring found that it would be too close to the drive shaft! Dag nabbit! Thought I was on to something!!! Anybody need a tank?

Sure, what is the cost of it and the shipping?

Driveshaft location has not changed, just your rear wheel stance.

I'm not sure how much it would cost to ship but I can box it up, measure & weigh it and get an estimate from ups. Selling the tank for $80

The price is okay for me, but If someone closer to you wants it let them have it I thought you were closer, however you are on the other side of the Nation. 93065 is where I'm at, postal shipping will be out of this world.

    check out Greyhound PackageXpress

Anywhere a Greyhound Bus goes, so can your over-sized part for a lot less than traditional shipping solutions. I shipped my rear fender from LA, California to Illinois and I just had to drive one town over to meet up with the big grey bus. It gets to sit down below room permitting. I am sure there are some restrictions.

I had a 3 speed transmission shipped up from Salt Lake City to Spokane for about $30.

Hey Robert, good talking to you this morning. Glad that you only had "debris" from Irene! Welcome to the "Hurricane Club"! Far cry from Mississippi, huh bro! Always remember one thing! Buy flood insurance! It's cheap and it is a God send! Glad you survived your first one!

    Robert,
I was able to pick the tank up this evening. Thanks, I'm going to see if I can mount it on the other side and have two tanks for traveling in it. BTW, do you still have the fill tube that comes out between the cab and bed? If so pm me a message on the price if you want.
Thanks again for getting it to me.

Two tanks for traveling? Great idea!! You should be able to get half way across the country now!!

I don't have the filler tube for that tank specifically but I think I have an extra one for the cab mounted units that you can perhaps modify to make it work.

    Thanks, Robert.
Think I'll give Joe a holler and see if he has something if not I can have one made at a friend welding shop. I have to see him anyway because I snapped the strap bolt getting it off. I'm working on turning the spout around so it also works for the drivers side of the truck. I have an extra electrical fuel pump, threeway switch, and an electric gas valve to make the tanks work.
    Thanks again for the tank.

    Charles
