    Gentlemen, I need some help with stripped out door handles. All four are bad and I need to find a solution. The shafts are bad and the inside of the handles are bad as well. I thought about drilling a hole in the shaft and running a screw through the handle into the shaft. Is this a good or bad idea and can it even be done? Has anyoine tried this before? Is there some simple fix that I dont know about? It seems replacing the inside door parts would be a real hassle. Can the shaft alone be replaced without too much hassle? Thanks, Bob

    Bob, You Can Get The Parts To Fix The Door Handle Mechanism,The Shaft portion and New Spring,Not That Hard,Just Takes a Little Time! As far As The Handles Go You Can get New Ones Or Buy Used Ones,Depends On How You
    Want To Go, Sounds Like Yours Are Shot, I Might Have Some used Ones That Would Get You By, But If The Shaft On The Mechanism is Striped Your Going To Have To Deal With It as Well Hope This Help's

    Stripped Door Handles

    Yes Bob ;

    You can indeed drill them out & use pins , hold the pins in by the original set screws , this works *okay* but in time you'll tire of it and want to replace the shaft & other parts , it's not difficult , just time consuming as you must clean & re grease everything to reduce drag & friction so they won't strip out again .

    DO buy all the door hardware screws & etc. before you begin as they're always beat up , gone missing or wrong.......
