Sometimes guns can be hit or miss. I bought one at napa for $160 and it always painted like crap. Then got one from the Mac Tools truck and its amazing. I've heard of guys buying cheap ones and having success and guys getting expencive ones that suck.

    Looking Good !

Black is always a nice choice .

FWIW , Harbor Freight stuff is often not quite right right out of the box , it behooves one to carefully take it apart and look at how it was assembled etc. as they're *very* good about you showing up and asking to exchange it or to rob parts from another box on the shelf .

My Diesel Compression Tester came with NO THREADS on the cylinder adapter I needed..... :p

Took it back and they didn't even ask to see my receipt .

Another buddy bought multiple paint guns there and all were great ~ he bought an air feed pedal for his bead blaster cabinet and had to take it all the way apart and re assemble it with the tiny parts in the correct order before he could get any air out of it ~ when you buy cheapo tools , expect to need to finagle them a bit .

I'm no Painter but I too , always lay on thin coats and wait 10 minutes for the solvents to " flash off " and tack up before the next coat goes on ~ this can be maddening as at first it appears you're not getting any coverage but after the 5th or 6th coats , suddenly it looks very good indeed , whenever I paint wheels or chassis parts i use minimum of 6 coats and no drips , runs nor orange peel .

I should have taken them both back but I was too angry at the time and tossed them both in the dumpster. I did however stumble across a video on YouTube that should five things to do the guns to make them perform better & I followed the steps as given on the first gun.

Plans are to shoot it again this weekend. We'll see how everything turns out with the new gun!

Alright, tried it again and it turned out great. No issues this time.... almost. Right at the start the threads on the plastic filter stripped and it blew off!!:mad: A quick trip to the local auto parts store solved that. they had a metal one that was perfect. The Home Depot gun worked flawlessly right out the box!!!

    Too COOL!

Well, glad I helped! You did too, because, as I say, I can't wait to get my new gun. Come July or so, I will have my front end back in place and the axle under the bed. So~~~~

Here's to you, Robert! I'm glad you changed your avatar, because that was the next thing I was going to get after you about!

BTW, Where'd you get those side view mirrors? They look pretty cool! (And hopefully they help with the visuals?)

Zig, those are swan neck mirrors I picked up awhile back on Ebay. They function ok but I use the cab corner windows to my advantage.

Ken, I was actively looking for a chrome grill & bumper, but I'm really liking the blacked out look now!!

Thanks, Robert. I'll have to check and see if there are more. I really like the sporty look of them.
I like the all black look as well!

Very nice truck! So cool in the modern neighborhood with all the modern "colored egg cars". Jumped over to your photos and checked the ol' truck out all over. VERY NICE! Curious about those torque thrust wheels, what size are they? Just what I would like to use, those or Crager SS.
