    Looking Good !

    Robert ;

Your truck looks good , making good progress there .

What harness will you be using ? .

I miss my old '49 '3100 but am better served by my current slushbox tranny truck .

    Re Power

Why not go exotic ? there's plenty of cheap Jaguar DOHC I6 engines out there , sturdy , economical and imagine the faces when you pop the hood and they gawk at the polished dual cam cylinder head....

Or a 4 Liter fuel injected Jeep engine ? again ,cheaper than dirt , reliable and different .

    We're talking under $500 for everything , F.I. and all .

Anyone can plop in a V-ate Robert .

    Why aren't you sleeping ? it's 03:50 ! :p .

I tried to do the stock shifter on the 53, no room for the linkage. If you want to go stick, look at the t5 conversion or a tremec! If the wife is on board, get to it!

Was a thought on the 3 on the tree behind a sbc the guy I got the trans from has one his 56 truck with a sbc if it won't fit I would just go automatic on the column don't want to do a floor shift. anyway just some thought on change up got time to think about what combo.

My wife wants a/c unlike us we sweat our tails off because we love driving our trucks as far as v8 its a realy tough disicion for me I love the six in a row looks sound so iam going to take my time to think this one out got a lot of holes to plug on the firewall if I were to do a v8 I already know what I want it to look like the whole set up.

I put a/c on the 53 with the 235. Works great.

    I6 & ac

Glad to see you've not lost your senses Robert ! .

AC is easy to add to any 216/235/261 .

Using the Sanden compressor yields colder AC and more power for motorvation .

Just pop for a crate engine if you don't know the engine runs perfectly. It will save you in the long run. After the 53, I have reaffirmed that I will not be installing rebuilt engines, as the past several have been headaches and apparently no one rebuilds them for sh*t.

Robert, I think the old six in your truck is cool also. A 235 with A/C would really be neat. I guess my comment just comes from the "speed freak" in me. My wife thinks thats what is going to get me in the end.
