      Drag link should have a sheet metal cover to close up this hole and keep dirt out . make one or use ruber bicycle tube .
      the ovalled hole here is O.K. , what's important is the ball that fits inside should be round , not oblong or you'll have stiff steering . often the tension springs are broken and most re-pop ones won't fit.get a good used on and lightly snug the adjusting screw,ALWAYS use a new cotten pin that fits snugly here or you'll DIE .

      LOTS of fresh grease upon re-assembly and grease evrery oil change or 1,000 miles
