    I.D. #'s for 1951 chevy

Could it be seacrest green? That was the only other green on trucks. I think primer was usually black, but maybe not.

    Wheel pinstriping

Original wheels that I have looked at and measured the stripes, the stripes are 1/4 inch wide. I do not know if you are aware of this bit of trivia, but 15 inch wheels did not come with pinstripes. The 16 inch wheels had the 3 stripes. Your restoration pack will tell you this if you doubt it.

    interior firewall cover

Get that ABS one. It is almost a perfect fit, and the color and texturing make it look like an orignal one, but it will not fall apart like the orginal.

    What color?

If you have discovered the color you are looking for is waldorf white, I hunted high and low for the color, and ended up just using plain white on my inner bars. But since then, another poster gave me a color code he says is waldorf white. Here it is: DCC Concept 90096, which will read out as...

    Front hood emblem mounting gasket

RE: Front hood emblem mounting gask Actually, originally there was no gasket under the emblem, so I would say that if you do want one, it should not show. But I am not sure by trimming it so much it does not show it would be doing any good for you.

    Pin stripes measurements

Like I said, there was lots of variance, and it is just my opinion of originality. These stripes were handpainted, so placement depended on who was doing the painting. Probably varied with the factory also. I am in the midwest, and probably see mostly trucks made in St Louis and Kansas City...

    rear bumper identification?

RE: Blues & Trucks To return to the original topic, I find it interesting your 50 does not have an original rear bumper, they were standard equipment in 1950, and became optional in 1951. Which is when dealers started putting on their own rear bumpers with the free advertising.

    Pin stripes measurements

First off, let me say, there was only one pinstripe around the beltline of the cab. Also, the pinstripes on these old trucks were hand painted, so they varied in size and position from truck to truck. Even varied on the same truck! But I have looked at a lot of original old trucks and...

    where to start?

RE: Refurbishment It is actually called "mariner blue", but you were close! As for paint codes, all you do is have to ask. Mariner blue's current PPG paint code is 10419. Interior color kind of a "champagne" color, I cannot find a good paint code I am happy with, but Chevy Duty sells a real...

    where to start?

RE: Refurbishment Good looking truck there. Interesting, it is a 5 window, but I do not see any signs of the deluxe cab option. Someone once said the corner windows could come without the deluxe cab option. Guess he was correct.

    where to start?

RE: where to start I doubt you will find a Haynes manual that covers your year truck. The Chevrolet shop manual is about all you will find, other than maybe an old Motors Manual. But I only use the shop manual. You can purchase one right here, from chevy duty.

Can the dash be taken out?

Nate is right, it can be removed, but then you are right back where you started, you have to weld inside your cab to put it back. And it will probably be more welding than is needed now.

Can the dash be taken out?

    No, it is welded in.

    lead free valves?

First off, I have to agree with the speed that CD delivers. I have actually had stuff delivered the next day! But I live considerably closer to KC than you. As for your problem, if you decide to do anything at all, it is change the valve seats, the valves themselves do not need to be...

Yes it is yet again another of thoe

RE: Yes it is yet again another of That serial number makes it a 1950 just as you suspected. I can also tell you it was made in Janesville Wisconsin in the month of January. Lots of things can be changed over 55 years, like your doors.
