Kitted the carb Sat. and finnally got the truck to start. It has 5-6 year old gas in it. Looks like cola. Tried to siphon it out today, not much luck. Ifigured I could just put a hose in the neck and hit gas. Seems it would get to the gas?? Anyhow got about a gollon or so out. Put some fresh in. Put new fuel pump on. Nothing?? Took the fuel line of and shot shop air to it. Brick wall. Does the line go up thru the floor to the tank?? I guess I need to pull the tank ,but just wondering where the line went. How is it hooked up??. There is only one line right??

Your tank should have a drain plug in it. Look under the truck in center of the floor under the tank.

Also, there is a flexible hose that runs from the rigid fuel line to the line for the tank. Finally, yes you should pull the tank, have it cleaned at a quality radiator shop. Your tank is in the cab, right? If in the cab, it shouldn't need to be coated with a liner, but that does help. Nate has some really good tricks for cleaning and lining the tank yourself. follow his directions in the archives for that procedure if you want to do it yourself.

    That's Because :

Nate's a cheap old Yankee farm boy who only buys JUNK and has the knack of finding the only rusted vehicles in Sunny Southern California.......

But yes , my methods work out well .
