Power Door Locks

    I am looking for a vendor for power door locks for a 61. Anyone know where they may be found?

    Sadly, there is NO bolt in kit for power locks.
    There was an articl in Classic Trucks magazine a few years ago on how to adapt a standard power lock kit to our trucks. ( sorry, that's the best I can do)

    There are really two ways to approach this during fabrication.

    1) lock the door latches the same way they do when "inside" the truck by pushing the door handle down. ( that actually locks the latch )
    and..
    2) lock the doors the same way the key does from the outside which only locks the "button" on the door handle.

    By compromising on option number 2 it will make fabrication easier. You need to get the lock solinoid to move a bar up behind the button, preventing it from being pressed in.

    If this is for a truck with shaved door handles then you must choose option number 1.
