    I wonder if anybody here might help me identify this vehicle. I've got a 1967 gmc 1/2 ton. The Vin is CM1590dzc2777a. Can't seem to find a decoder that will tell me what the thing is called. 3 Speed on the steering column, 2 wheel drive. Surprisingly it has a big block V6 305.

    Anybody have any idea what it is? I'm guessing it's a C1500. Great old truck, been in our family for 30 years at least.

    Nothing on the plates or in the glove box gives it away. I did find some paperwork on it stashed up in the springs of the seat, but of course that stuff disintegrated when I tried to remove it. All the lost secrets.

    Thanks.

    GMC Pauls..... http://www.gmcpauls.com/67-72_gmc.htm

    CM1590dzc2777a

    C = 2wd Conv. Cab
    M = V-6 Gas
    1 = 1/2 Ton
    OD = Wideside
    Z = Fremont
    C = 1967
    2777 = Serial Number (started at 1001)
    A = Under 6000 GVW

    So, yes, it's a C1500

    Build Info

    That crumbly paper in the seat springs was the original build sheet and they always crumble...... :( .

    Sounds like you have a nice truck there ~ the V6's were incredibly sturdy and long lived , torque monsters able to pass anything but a gas station .
