I am a trail and error mechanic, i have a 71 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 its got an automatic trans. short bed. I pulled the transfer case to check the seals, it has a adapter between the transmission an the transfer case. well now it seams that i am pushing trans. fluid into the transfer case, and when i drive it starts to make a scwolling noice, it also creates a lot drag on everything when i get off the gas it wants to slow down quicker. One more question i pulled the front hubs off down to the spindals under one of the spindals was a brass ring with one side of it thicker then the other, what is that for and which way should it go back on?
