I was wondering if my 1959 headlight switch could be changed out to a newer 1960 -1964 type, if would remove the little fuse at least? Should fit in the dash, may need different connectors but should work, any comments?

I had a 1958 chevy shortbed stepside , some had fuse boxes some did not , mine didn't and the light switch ran everything so I would be careful messing with it unless your really good with wiring !! I'd take the easy way out get a new stock one and put it right back !!!!!! :D

Yes , the versions that have a circuit breaker built in are the best , IRC the breaker only is for the headlight circuit though .

    Steve,
I had trouble with my light switch breaker always kicking of with my halogen headlights. I finally broke down and put a relay in so the main amperage never hit the switch.
