I have a 50 1/2 ton with the old Huck brake system. When I took the drums off the shoes aren't being held to the backing plates with holdown springs. I bought a new set of holdown springs, pins. My question is,how are the holdown pins attached? I have holes in the brake shoes, but don't see any thing on the backing plates to attach the pins to. appreciate any help or photos. I did some pics in previous posts, but not of the bare backing plates. Tom

My 50 did not have holes for the hold down springs in the backing plates for the fronts.

    huck brakes holdowns

Thanx for your time to show me your setup. Seems that my truck wasn't set up to use holdowns, although I have read the trucks used them, but not the passenger cars? Tom
