As I've mentioned before, my 66 C10 (Ratnest) was a bonafide basket case. Today, I think I may have finally identified one of the rusty parts that came with the truck. See attached photo. I think it goes between the rear edge of the front fender and the cab...to keep road sludge from getting into the front of the door and cab. I've searched many 60-66's at a local vintage junk yard and never found one. On page 32 of the Classic Parts catalog you'll see part no. 37-614. Those could be the rubber part of the item in the picture. However, no metal component is listed. If the metal part is not available, what do ya'll recommend to close up that space? Thanks, Jim
You`re right Ratsnest, they are as elusive as a vampire, I have been looking for one myself, I need the right side, seems that if a fender ever comes off they just discard them, I did find a set but the sellar wanted to sell them with the inner splash panels, keep looking you`ll find one when you least expect it.
Thanks...I won't give up. In the interim, I may just make something out of sheet metal and affix it as best I can. The vampire analogy fits perfect
Thanks a lot. I checked out their site and sent them an email asking they check inventory for a pair.
Those parts look small enough to ship economically via USPS, UPS or FedEx.. You might check with these guys they have good used parts I bet they can help: Rich Sisneros is located in Crowley, Colorado: email: rjsisneros@ria.net http://www.stovebolt.com/RJ/ phone 719 250-5057 -or- Tony Smith, 4-5-6 Chevy Trucks, 560 South 11th Street, Kansas City, KS 66105, Phone: 913-207-7789, email: 4-5-6chevytrucks@sbcglobal.net
