Welcome to the forum. Per The Stovebolt's VIN Buster Serial # : 3A570107 Mfg Year : 1957 Model : 3100 1/2 ton (V8) Wheelbase : 114 inches Plant : unknown Post up some photo's of your classic '57 Chevy.... we'd all like to check it out!
Thank you! What does the letters "V" & "A" represent in the VIN; also the numbers "007" on the end of the VIN? (V3A 570107007)? Are these old vehicles able to be traced back to its original owners or some history that documents their history? I'm curious about the back stories of these wonderful old trucks!! Thanks again, Mr. Bill
V 3A57O107007 Not sure what the V stands for? 3A: indicates the Series (all light trucks had a "3" in the first position). 57: indicates the two-digit year. O: The fifth symbol indicates the assembly plant (should be a letter, maybe yours is an "O" not a "0", (which would mean the truck was built in Oakland CA). 107007: Last was the the sequence number (6 digits and started with 001001 at each plant).
