    Hi. I'm happy to say that i just purchased my 1965 GMC K10 4x4 with a 305 V6 with only 27k original miles! The person I purchased the truck from told me that it came from WV as a fire and rescue truck, and when they retired the truck one of the fire and rescue guys purchased it. He then left the truck in his garage and then gave it to his grandson who also kept it in his garage. The truck even has the original siren still in it. The truck has very little surface rust and the paint appears to be the original color (yellow with no over spray)! I've only seen a few in this color and as I searched "color chips" for this year, make and model, there appears to be the same color yellow. If someone can confirm, that would be awesome. I wanted to paint the body fire engine red and the top part of the cab black, but if the original color is yellow, I think I would like to keep it that color. I just put the truck in the shop to get all leaks and gaskets replaced so i can start to drive it during the spring since there is no AC! I will post photos when I learn how to.

    Welcome. You will find a lot of valuable information on here, these guys will definitely share their opinions with you.
    To upload pictures;
    Do you have them loaded on your computer?
    Click on either "quote", or "post reply" and it will bring up a box for your comments. When you are in the comment section, scroll down to the box that says "attach files". Click "manage attachments". A pop up window will appear where it says "choose file", click on it and find the picture you would like to upload. It has the ability to do 5 at a time, unless your computer or internet is slow, then I would suggest to select 2 and then upload. Once you have uploaded all the pictures, just hit "submit reply" below the comments box.

    Those old V6's were sturdy engines ! take any sort of care and you'll never wear it out .

    Waiting for photos please......

    I hope you retain the yellow color , ex fire trucks are way cool , in the 1980's they were everywhere and dirt cheap , most were chopped up and ruined .
