Ticking noise in motor

    There is a rythmic ticking noise coming from the motor in my truck. it goes in time with the firing of the motor and isnt very loud but you can hear it if your standing in front of the truck, it is a 350 any help appreciated.

    I had the same type of sound a while back and found that it was coming from the water pump, could it be the same for you?

    it could be one of your rocker arms need adjusted or a lifter could be sticking, it could be a slightly cracked manifold or the dougnut gasket just started leaking.

    well i just got brand new exhaust like 3 days ago which allowed me to here the ticking. it was open manifold before that. i will pull the valve cover and tell you what i find.

    Still dont know what the ticking is any suggestions on what it is and how to fix it would be great
