No sir will not fit...! There were two style heaters for the `64 the deluxe with fresh air which had three levers in the cab and the thrift air heater which had a single pull/turn knob, these two heaters were used `63 to `66, you should be able to buy parts and pieces or complete units...used.
That would be slick to use a 67-72 heater on a 60-66 truck, as related to under hood appearance. I guess the question is how bad do you want it to fit? Not trying to be a wise guy, its just that pretty much anything is possible... and in this case it would be slick visually.
Will i guess i have a blank slate. Nothing nada Got a 64-65 c10 lwb with a1970 250 inline 6 and a power glide . But no heater at all which here in so cal is not a big deal except when it is cold or raining. Mainly when i have to defrost the window
Here`s a couple of pics for you the thrift heater as veiwed from the firewall, and the second is the deluxe, either will work, you will need the tube ducts, heater box/fan, core, and related switch, so from `63 to `66 will work, hpefully you`ll find everything on one truck, the thrift heater has much fewer parts other than the core ports coming thru the firewall as shown in the first pic....
Thanks for the info. So the one on the left is all in the cab the one on the right is in the engine bay with just vent hose inside ?
Correct either case you need the ductwork for inside, there are more thrift heaters in calif, actually more guys want those as to clean up the engine bay, watch craigslist, in my area there were just three ads with heaters complete, all were deluxe, but none showing now....I just checked....! Or start checking your local wreckers, preferably older wreckers that are out in the sticks, you`ll find more parts....!
Found some of the 2nd one in san diego he wants 100 for just the engine compartment stuff Is that fair?
More here. I've heard some folks don't like the thrift heater.. FWIW: http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/121842/post/856131/hl//fromsearch/1/
Sberman, so I take it your in Socal, yes I know parts are higher down there, it depends on what you want to pay, to me you should get everything for that price, do you have anything under the dash at all...?
