I have a new fuel gauge, new wiring, new tank and new sending unit. all parts from our host. I cant get my gauge to read past 1/2 full with the tank unit installed even with a full tank of gas. when I pull the tank unit out of the tank and manually raise and lower the float I get a perfect reading on the gauge. I have a good ground at the gauge and at the tank unit and like I said it works great until that units get dropped and secured in the tank. im lost and the only thing I can think of is maybe something in the tank messing with the float? any thoughts??

I have had to bend the rod a bit to make shure it will register full. I bent mine a little much, so when the needle starts to move from full I have a half tank. It hasn't annoyed me enough to fix it yet.

If you are near Pineville, I can take a look at it for you.

I had my clock in the wrong holes and the float would hit the side of the tank.

Thanks again guys, Russ I bent the arm a bit and got it spot on,"so I think". I will see when I run some gas out of it. right now all I know is that the tank is full and the gauge is reading full and slowly picking the unit up out of the tank to where the float arm is in empty position and the float is riding at the top of the fuel level it reads empty. so I think I should be good. by the way I finally got some pictures on my profile for you guys. I have been building my truck since 2010.
