[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jun-03-05 AT 12:45 PM (CST)]I want to buy a 68 c10, but I'm having trouble deciding whether or not to hunt for a 4x4. How good is the system? Is it difficult to maintain? Its very hard to find a 4x4 version. If I were to get a 2x4 and convert (I know, I know - "just get a 4x4!" But they're so hard to find), would I need a new frame? Were the 4x4 frames unique? Thanks for your help! :D

In my opinion they are pretty good. As to maintence it is only as good as it was maintained in the first place. If you cannot find any trucks in your area look outside your area. There are large numbers of these trucks in my area and they are for sale all the time from show models to rebuildables. If you cannot find the specific year 68 you can always buy a 69-72 model and interchange the front clip to 68. In the long run it will be far cheaper to buy a 4x4 than it would be to convert a 2wd to a 4x4.
