    Hello,
    I have one question, does a four speed transmission fit on every 235 cui engineblock or need I a special engineblock for these transmission?
    I ask this, cause someone sells in Germany a complete engine. I will buy it, cause my engineblock have a crack which water is leaking.

    Wokri ;

    If it has a 216/235 no and yes .

    Take a close look see before buying some one's junk .

    I bought a long stroke i^ engine for $100 and glad I only paid that for it was if needs new cylinder sleeves , I saved the head but will prolly junk the block as no one seems to want it for free .

    Caveat Emptor ! .

    Hello Nate, here some photos from the seller of the engine. I sure that I have to overhault the block, so that I can use many of the parts of my block.

    235?

    That does not look like a 235 to me.

    Anybody else?

    It might be a splash lubrication 235.....

    I'd like to see the other side of it and the casting & stamped in numbers .

    I understand these are hard to find in Europe but be very clear what it is and what you want before paying more than scrap price for it .

    Vwnate, I thought that the lifter side cover went all the way around plugs it was 216. The lifter cover that was rectangle was 235.

    216 & 235 Babbit Pounders

    BOTH sizes were available with this side plate (a crappy thing that leaks) in pre 1954 formats .

    This is why I said to CHECK before passing on this old engine core .
