(Sorry about the BIG pictures, but I figure some forum members might want to see details.)

Ken and I attended the Houston Autorama today and stumbled across this

beautiful 35 Chevy coupe. I was admiring it from the left rear quarter, but almost fell over when I walked up towards the front and saw this:

It is a GMC 302 with a Howard 12 port head and Hilborn injection updated with a FAST electronic injection controller.

A shot of the valve cover.

    Beautiful headers:

    Transmission is a 700R4 with a 3.23:1 rear gear.

Hilborn injector bodies with new, electronically controller injectors.

The owner says he bought the engine from Tony Foyt (A.J.'s dad) in the late 50s when they were switching from inline GMC to V8 power in their sprint cars.

    Made my day!

Don't think so. I talked with the owner (from just south of Houston) who said he just got it put together.

OK, then, guess not. The one I saw had a 302 and Wayne head. Older gentleman. We talked about 302s. Plus it was red. Last spring in Pleasanton at a Good Guys thingy.
