Bill, I think maybe it would have... Haven't driven much since the repairs though.

On Jan 27th I had my left knee replaced, so I'll be out of the truck for a few weeks. Surgery went well, and I expect the final result to be very good. Meanwhile, I have trouble organizing my thoughts for stuff like this, as It appears that the Hydrocodone has somewhat addled my brain  Kens 50 and I exchanged a few texts shortly after surgery and I proved that to him.. :D It appears that I'm trading coherence for pain relief for a while. Working my way off the pain meds though. I decided before surgery that I'd use the meds when needed, a little more than in the past. Rehab is moderately tough, but past experience tells me that I actually have a higher tolerance for pain than most, (According to Two different Doctors ;))

Taking it one step at a time, (pun intended). Walking with walker, Therapists say I can go to a cane mid-week. Dr. Appt on Wednesday to remove 33 staples  I expect to be more comfortable within a couple of more days from that.. Not sleeping long, usually 3 hrs. continuous, with a couple more 1 hr. 'naps' each night. Lots of Therapy and home exercise keeps me cycling from pain to pill to pain again.... Not all doom and gloom, though. Making good progress according to Physical Therapists, and expecting better comfort pretty soon. Truck is waiting patiently for me to come out and play.:) Thanks for the support, My Friends. :D

    Dang, that hurts to read!

Time heals everything, right? (If that's the case, my truck should be shining like a diamond!)
Hang in there~ At least you are making progress.
I'm the kind of person who always smiles when I read "Alcohol May Intensify the Effect" :D
Be good, and thanks for keeping us up to date!

You Guys are NOT Gonna Believe This!

Well, I've been sorta' keeping you all informed about my knee replacement. Since July, I've been pretty quiet, I think. I had arthroscopic surgery on July 31, 2014 to clean up a bunch of scar tissue that was interfering with the mechanics of my knee movement, and causing major swelling and pain. For a few weeks I felt so much better that I was convinced I'd be up and running in no time.
Since then, I have had continued leg pain, especially at night. Repeated Dr visits and consultations have rendered a decision.
On Tuesday of this week, I went back to my Dr. We discussed a lot of stuff, and ultimately the decision has been made that my implanted knee has come loose. A bone scan in July, and subsequent X Rays indicate this. On February 2, 2015, I will be going in to surgery for Total Knee Replacement Revision Surgery.... This means removal of the loosened part(s), and installation of parts intended to hold into the bone better. The original lower, tibia, portion is about 3 1/2" long, and the Revision piece is more like 6" long. As far as what I will experience, it will be almost exactly the same surgery and rehab. The news did not come as a big shock, but did still cause considerable upset :( Still a couple of weeks away, so I'll try and get my truck put back together before surgery, so Clarabelle will be ready and waiting for my return.

    DON'T get discouraged ! .

I'm so much better I can kinda-sorta dance a little jig so show Folks how flexible I am now .

OTOH , I still need to sleep in my recliner fairly often but that's O.K. unless it's wet outside I leave the back door open and whistle up my dogs , they sleep on my lap , we're all happy , nice and comfy , too bad about the hair  .

On that ' third hand ' , I still get shooting pains in my hands & fingers now and again , they're bad enough to wake me up and/or yell out in pain but NO WAY am I going back under the knife again unless it gets really bad like last year .

So , go in there and get i8t fixed , you'll like it once it's done and you've carefully done ALL the P.T. crap .

    'K ? .;)

Thanks Nate. I got it :) I'm doing my best to do all the PT, as before. Surgery date is Feb. 2nd, A week away. Going in with a natural optimism, so I have every expectation that it will go well, and be back on track soon. Thanks again. Bill B.
